From the requestor:
“I am requesting WWR to Mug and Hug my uncle. He is 90 years old this September!
He was a Tuskegee Airmen! Henry Baldwin graduated from Simon Gratz High school in 1944. He entered the Army 1944 and graduated from the Division of Aeronautics in Tuskegee Institute, Alabama June 1945. Rev. Henry Baldwin, who at age 19 was one of the original Tuskegee Airmen, flew with distinction during World War II as the 332nd Fighter Group, Army Air Corps over Italy. Henry received his Doctorate in 1976 in education. His big honor in 2007, in what many viewed as a long-overdue action, he and other Tuskegee Airmen received the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian honor bestowed by Congress. Henry is currently battling dementia and nothing would make him happier than to see you all stop by and say hello.
My nephews will also be in attendance both are retired Marines and Vietnam Veterans. There will be 23 other Vets at the home that we’ll be honoring with MSAWI stars…”
