A Hero’s Welcome has been invited by the Springfield Township Police to join in the annual Springfield Township “Night Out” to support local law enforcement and the community.
Springfield Township Police Department has begun to plan for this year’s National Night Out event, which will take place on Tuesday, August 7 from 6pm-9pm at the Springfield Country Club.
A Hero’s Welcome will have an information table set up and a supply of “Stars for our Troops” for us to present to any veterans that are in attendence. Please consider joining us at this event. It will be nice to have 5+ of our members to man the table. If you are interested, please let me know and plan on arriving by 5:30 pm.
WHAT IS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT?
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August (Texas celebrates on the first Tuesday in October). Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more.
