I recently recieved an email from Army wife Kristy Nelson, requesting a welcome home for her husband SP/4 Aaron Nelson. A copy of which follows.
“My husband Aaron Nelson, is in the Army and was in Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom from April 2011 – September 2011. His deployment was cut short on September 11th 2011, when an IED exploded and left him with three broken vertebrae. He was sent back to his duty station at Ft. Wainwright, where he began his healing, and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was told that he could no longer be an infantry soldier and needed to change his job or be medical boarded out of the Army. He chose to stay in the Army and is currently going through training for his new job. He will be returning home next month for the first time in almost two years. We are throwing a surprise welcome home party on Saturday, November 3rd in Hellertown. I would greatly appreciate it if we could do an escort by the riders to the party.”
Now how can we say no, to that request?
