From Sandie (Marks sister )
I would like to thank my brother for his service, I have been on a few missions with my husband and would like to see him treated like the “rock star” he is. His name is MSgt. Mark Bernacki, at the age of 17 Mark entered the Delayed Enlistment Program and entered into Basis Training at the age of 18 in Feb 1989, after Basis Training he was sent to Chanute AFB IL, where he attended Aprentice school to become a Heavy Mobile Equipment mechanic, he was then stationed at Altus AFB OK. At the age of 19 after being at Altus for just over a year he was deployed to Jeddah Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Dessert Shield and Dessert Storm. Mark left Active Duty Air Force in 1993 and went directly into active Air Force Reserves stationed at Willow Grove ARS PA, he served at Willow Grove as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Mark left the Military after serving 8 years (4 active & 4 reserves) then re-enlisted into the the Air Force Reserves in 2000 after 3 years, stationed at Willow Grove ARS as a Logistics Planner. In 2003 Mark was deployed to Kuwait in support of the Iraq War. In 2006 Mark was promoted to MSgt and in 2007 he was transferred to McGuire AFB NJ and became the 514th Mainence Group Career Assistance Advisor, in April of this year Mark will have served 20 years and is eligible to retire but he plans on staying in for at least 6 more years after. The date we would like to do this is Sat. April 21 at 5pm, Mark will be arriving at 6pm. Mark thinks he is going to a birthday party for our mother at the home of the Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans Located at 800 Coates Ave Bristol PA 19007. We would like to have a Flag Line waiting for him and also would like him to be coined. We’ve purchased the coin already, and my son’s Cub Scout pack will be in attendence along with members of the Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans and the Buck County Motorcycle Association, we are also trying to get the local fire companies to help out, any help from the Warriors Watch Riders would be greatly appreciated.
