6/16/12 Welcome Home SSGT Dan Gommel, USAF Mount Ephraim, NJ

Staff Sgt Dan Gommel served in the Air Force from 1997 to 2002 as a Load Master on C-130. During his service he was deployed to Iraq and Saudi Arabia. He was given Air Force expedition Medal, Iraqi, Saudi Arabia Medal, for his services while deployed. Both Dan and his wife Maria are New members to the Warriors Watch Riders. ( Maria says Dan never logs on WWR, It is always her So this is going to be a complete surprise) THEY are extremely excited about Welcoming home our Heroes.  I wanted to give you a little Back story about Dan’s Experience while deployed, But I will just show you the email that Maria sent to us after joining the WWR.

Hello my name is Maria Gommel and Thank You for the “Welcome aboard WWR email”. I do have some questions. I met one of your members who I approach because I wanted to find out information about your group. My husband is an Air Force Veteran who served in the Iraqi War…. His name is Dan Gommel and we wants to do your missions, welcome homes, whatever it is to show our support and be a part of your WWR Family. We do not have a bike though can we ride in our truck? This is very important to my husband, you see he was the only survivor from his platoon that came home. He road home with all the caskets and then he helped carry them off the plane. He is 100% all American, All Military And ALL Patriotic. So joining your group will do him good. Every year we go to Arlington Cemetery and pay our respects to his brothers who died along side of him. So please if you can let me know how I can get a sticker or magnet for my truck so we will be able to ride with your WWR Family on these events.

   P.S.  a Little ADDED info for this Mission. Dans Dad, Albert Gommel, was in the Army  He worked for the pentagon for 36 years and retired. He was in the Pentagon when it was attacked on 9-11. Albert will be at Dan Welcome Home.
