We have been asked by U.S. Army wife, Kailyn McClain for a Welcome Home / Escort for her husband PFC Matthew McClain.
Kailyn recently wrote, my husband Matthew will be returning home from Afghanistan for the arrival of our first born. I want to show support to him and thank him for everything he has done for me, our family, and his country. I would like to set up a Welcome Home for him. I do not know the exact date of his arrival, please let me know if this is possible.
I am sure that we all know what the answer is.
Matthew is 22 and going to turn 23 on June 18th. Matthew graduated high school in 2008 and according to Kailyn worked at dead end jobs and decided in the winter of 2009/2010 that he wanted to better himself and do something that he would be proud doing. So he joined the Army in the summer of 2010. Started basic training in September 2010, then stationed in Ft. Carson CO January 2011, and was deployed to Afghanistan in March.
PFC McClain is an infantryman. Kailyn and PFC McClain grew up together from 6th grade on and became best friends, then eventually boyfriend and girlfriend. On December 30th he took Kailyn to NYC and proposed while getting a professional picture taken in front of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller center. They got married on July 16th 2011, found out Kailyn was due in July of this year. Their lives have been molded to work around the Army.
